LHC Compact Muon Solenoid Experiment Webcams

Steve McLeod, fellow 30 day challenger posted a link to a website which claims to show real time information on the destructive status of the Large Hadron Collider, a vast particle accelerator bordering Switzerland and France. The website (http://hasthelargehadroncolliderdestroyedtheworldyet.com/) simple reports whether or not the LHC has created a mini black hole and destroyed the earth, of course if it had you wouldn’t be reading this, would you?
What he didn’t mention was that one of the budding students working inside the LHC has set up a couple of webcams giving a front row seat of the latest test experiments running. Check out the webcams here: http://www.cyriak.co.uk/lhc/lhc-webcams.html
Tech: How to prevent image leeching (hot linking) in IIS 6.0

One of the most annoying things about hosting your own web site is that some people will take advantage of your web server serving up images and other content to any browser that requests them, even if the browser is displaying a page somewhere else on the internet.
By not hosting the images themselves, leeches save both disk space and bandwidth. It’s called leeching, image stealing, hot linking, hijacking and just plain stealing.

I know it’s been over a month since my last blog post. I’ve been a bit busy. Before I publish any new articles, here’s a quick catch up for the past month.
