It is with much pride that I introduce our sponsor, a global leader in the development of cutting edge user interface components, Infragistics:

Infragistics are sponsoring my 30 day challenge www.software-monitor.com project and have generously provided us (Evolved Software Studios) with their latest product, “NetAdvantage for .NET 2008“. The ASP.NET components from Infragistics are fully compliant with .NET 3.5 and make good use of AJAX for on-the-fly page data updates. I have used Infragistics’ desktop components since 2005 and you can see them in use in almost all our software. They are premium components and I have found them to be flexible and powerful (i.e. you can do a lot with them). The documentation and example code are thorough and professional and the support (when I last used it) was prompt and courteous.

image Anyway; the www.software-monitor.com website is due for a refresh over the next couple of days so don’t forget to bookmark it and come back soon. Using Infragistics’ components I should be able to get the tables (data grids) and graphics (charting) done professionally and without having to resort to coding my own charting components.

Other News

My small office “Small Business Server 2003″ running Exchange 2003 exploded yesterday. And out of the flames (well, smoke) rose a replacement 64bit “Windows 2008 Server” with Exchange 2007 SP1. Due to nothing more than my own stupidity, I lost the last two weeks emails on my own account (lesson learnt: always make regular .pst backups). I also still have to recover my SourceSafe source code backups and connect back up the CCTV and telephone line recording. It’s the same machine hardware that I wrote an article on how to build your own server earlier this year.

Well done Mike! I look forward to integrating your solution into our products and improve stability. Don’t know how you do it but keep it up!

Sounds like a great move, Mike. Getting some help like that is fantastic too.

Sorry to hear about the server BTW. :-(

      Thanks Scott & Colin,

There have been quite a few high profile companies wanting to get behind me on this one (i.e. sponsor), although we chose Infragistics as their components provide the best blend of style and functionality that I’m looking for in this application.

Having said that, I fully intend to get a professional web designer onto the HTML/CSS as soon as possible nearer or shortly after the launch date.

      Thanks,

      Mike
